Overcome your fear of public speaking!

Do you want to build confidence, gain knowledge, enhance skills, and develop techniques for public speaking?

During this fun and playful day, we’ll be using a combination of professional actors’ techniques, positive psychology, mindfulness, and NLP, to overcome the nerves, and help you to deliver your message clearly, passionately, and – most importantly – authentically. This day isn’t about a set of instructions that will turn you into a public speaking robot; it’s about releasing the confident speaker already inside you, excited to share the ideas that are important to you.

We’ll start the day with theatre skills to warm up the body, voice, and mind, before moving on to explore what makes a good speech, how we can turn ‘nervous’ into ‘excited’, and how we can allow ourselves to really ‘be seen’. Then, in small groups, you’ll work on your speech, with input from the tutors, until finally, you will confidently deliver a 3-minute speech to the group.

Tea & coffee are provided on arrival. Lunch is not included, but there are plenty of great places near the hotel where you can get a bite to eat.

Places are limited to a maximum of twelve participants. So book early, and come and join us for a thrilling day of challenging yourself to step out of your comfort zone, and surprise yourself with just how much you can achieve, with our help, in such a short time!

Feedback from previous sessions:

“I really enjoyed the workshop and would encourage anyone to step out of their comfort zone and attend” – Kyle

“Very good, diverse, practical exercises – this was about the body, and getting ‘out of your head’. Very original to have an actor and a teacher to facilitate: both bring strengths from their fields to the workshop” – Meggy

“The combination of Ruth and Andrew was excellent: different backgrounds, different approaches” – Yasuko
